Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Micro Locs Retie.

Most clients book reties every 4–8 weeks. Frequency depends on hair growth rate, loc thickness, and desired neatness. Thinner micro locs often need more frequent maintenance; thicker locs can go longer. Your stylist will recommend a tailored schedule.

Appointments typically last between 1.5 and 3 hours, depending on loc count, size, and required cleansing. Heavy buildup or thicker locs extend time. The session includes precleaner, shampoo, conditioning, the retie, and a finishing style.

Proper retie technique should maintain loc bulk, but over-manipulation or overly tight reties can cause thinning or breakage. We use gentle tension and nourishing products to protect follicles and encourage healthy density during maintenance.

Arrive with clean, dry hair if possible and avoid heavy oils or styling products before your appointment. Bring reference photos for desired styles and inform the stylist of recent treatments so techniques can be customized.

Avoid heavy waxes, thick pomades, or heavy oils that leave residue and inhibit cleansing. Clarifying products are okay but skip chemical treatments before your visit. Consult us if unsure to ensure best retie results.

Pricing varies by loc size, thickness, total number of locs, and time required. An in-salon assessment or consultation provides an accurate quote. We offer transparent estimates during booking or over the phone.
